Roger is the candy maker and his lovely wife Kim does the baking and merchandising. The shop was originally in Cypress Landing, and when the drug store closed on the corner of Pomeroy and Dolliver in May 1999, they relocated. Tomasko’s not only sells handmade salt water taffy, they make cookies, fudge, candy apples, and brownies. Sno-cones are always a summer favorite, along with Doc Bernstein’s ice cream, soft drinks, and fresh brewed espresso. The store also has beach toys, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, jewelry and miscellaneous souvenir items. Open 7 days a week, you will find Roger making his special chocolate and conversing with longtime customers that make Tomasko’s their first stop in town. MEET A NEW CHAMBER MEMBER SURFSIDE DONUTS Andy & Carin McKay 603 Dolliver Street 805-295-6069 Moyses Muguira Edward Jones Robin O’Hara Keller Williams Realty Lori Sterling Grandview Property Management Peter Ward Pismo Coast Village RV Resort Andy and Carin McKay recently moved to Pismo Beach from the Orange County beach area and noticed a void in town, no donuts! With their entrepreneurial spirit and a perfect location, they opened their shop with a simple premise, great coffee and unique flavored donuts. Carin starts at midnight hand decorating and coming up with a changing menu that might feature maple bacon, blood orange passion fruit, or their signature “strawberry clamshell” donuts. Surfside usually sells out every day, so come early for a good selection. If you want a sample, try the “fritter bites”. You’ll find Andy behind the counter, or surfing by the pier (his other passion). The 3 baristas make Stumptown Coffee from Portland, Oregon; espresso, cold brewed coffee on draft and 8 different tea choices. Buy a dozen donuts and get 15% off.
