Friday during school hours: 9:00—2:00 St. Peter’s Church From Fr. Nathan LaLiberte Mass Time Changes Bulletin It has been over a month since I proposed the possibility of having some changes in the mass times here at St. Maximilian Kolbe in Delano. I have, to date, had 42 different people contact me about their preferences for mass time changes. The demographic break down was 11 people requested no changes to be made to the mass times, 19 people requested a Tuesday evening mass, 11 people requested a Wednesday evening mass, and 1 person added the suggestion of an afternoon mass. Thus we had a total of 30 people requesting some kind of an evening mass to be added to the mass schedule here in Delano. So after surveying the parish and speaking with the Parish Council we are going to make the following change to our mass schedule starting, December 1st, 2015 (The first week of Advent, which is the new liturgical year). We will no longer have a Tuesday morning mass at St. Joseph Church, but will instead have 5:00 p.m. confessions at St. Peter Church followed by a 6:00 p.m. mass at St. Peter Church every Tuesday. At our neighboring parish in Watertown, Immaculate Conception, there is an 8:00 a.m. Tuesday mass, so that if the people who voted to make no change would still like to attend a morning mass on Tuesdays, instead of an evening mass here in Delano, there is still another option that is just a bit down the road. Because our change of mass time on Tuesday will also dislodge one of our standard confession times, I will also be moving a confession time slot to Thursday morning at St. Joseph Church. We will have confessions at 8:00 a.m. (before mass), mass at 8:30 a.m. as usual, and then confessions immediately after the mass until they are all heard. In the end, the main reason for the one daily mass time change, was to hopefully allow a different demographic to attend mass during the week if they so desired. Almost all of the people who voted for the evening mass were people who work a job that takes them away from the morning mass time. I thank the current daily mass crowd for their support in desiring to help 30 more people come to daily mass during the week. I realize that it is hard to break something that has been the “routine” for several years, but I am most grateful for the flexibility that you are extending to help our community grow in love of the Eucharist through the mass. NEW Daily Mass and Confession Schedule: Monday: 8:30 a.m. Communion Service at St. Joseph Church Tuesday: 5:00 p.m. Confessions, 6:00 p.m. mass at St. Peter Church Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Joseph Church Thursday: 8:00 a.m. Confessions, 8:30 a.m. Mass, 9:00 a.m. Confessions at St. Joseph Church Friday: 8:30 a.m. School Mass at St. Peter Church First Saturday: 8:30 a.m. Mass at St. Peter Church PARISH OF ST.
