7:00pm and we fasted every fifth day. There were speakers
each day and God moved wonderfully and powerfully with His
presence. I presented the final message and I would like to
share some encouraging words from that message with you.
The title of the message was “From Promises To Possessions
To Praise”. It was taken from II Corinthians 1:20, “For all the
promises of God in Him are yea, and in Him Amen, unto the
glory of God by us.”
W
hen I think about God and how He is always present
in our seasons, transitions, experiences, and life’s
situations, my thoughts are reminiscent of the past,
filled with the present and hopeful about the future.
This 2013 edition of The Woman’s Touch is dedicated to Bible
Way Church of Atlas Road as we celebrate 50 years of service
to God, His church and our community. For fifty years, from
1963-2013, the Bible Way Church family has enjoyed being a
beacon of hope while co-laboring in the Kingdom for God’s
promises, plans and purposes for lives to change. The Year of
Jubilee, proclaimed by Pastor Darrell Jackson, Sr., is a year of
celebration, consecration, and elevation. Congratulations Bible
Way for a job well done for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
In March 2013, the Bible Way Church Women’s Ministry
celebrated Sisterhood culminating with us having a glorious
time during our Sisterhood Weekend. Enjoy the articles and
pictures in this issue dedicated to Women’s Month 2013.
Along with this edition, I would like to share a few thoughts with
our readers:
At the beginning of this year, we came before the Lord with 50
days of prayer and fasting. We prayed every day from 6:00pm-
2 The Woman’s Touch § Summer 2013
The promise is God. He gave the promissory book which
is the Bible and He will keep His promises. According to the
Merriam-Webster dictionary, the word promise is a declaration
that something will or will not be done or given; to express
assurance on which expectation is to be based. Promises from
the Bible tell us that the enemy will not win. We have the
promises of all sixty-six books of the Bible so we can possess
everything that is promised to us. The possession in the Bible
stems from Ephesians 3:20; “Now unto God that is able to
do exceeding and abundantly above all that we ask or think,
according to the power that works in us”. Yes, God wants you to
be in good health. Psalm 68:19 reads, “Blessed be the Lord, who
daily loads us with benefits…” 3 John 2 reads, “Beloved I wish
above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even
as thy soul prospereth”. Don’t doubt; just shout! And finally
- the praise: Leviticus 25:10a reads, “And you shall hallow the
fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout all the land and
its inhabitants”. This is the 50th year of Bible Way Church of
Atlas Road and our theme scripture is carried out in two words:
hallow (holy) and proclaim. Hallow means to make holy, to
sanctify and to consecrate. Proclaim means to announce or to
declare publicly or openly the praises of God for all the great
things He has done through us and for us on His behalf.
Special thanks is extended to all of you who make up God’s
Kingdom, so let’s celebrate Jesus, celebrate others and
celebrate yourselves.
I love you but God loves you best.

I
t is an honor as well as a blessing to witness Bible Way
Church of Atlas Road celebrate 50 years of service
through ministry. This year’s theme is “The Year of
Jubilee” and Pastor Darrell Jackson, Sr., has declared
this a time of restoration, consecration and liberation.
Consecration is defined as the sacred dedication of oneself
for purposes instructed by the Lord. God requires those
who worship Him to set themselves apart from distractions
for the purpose of His Kingdom. This takes dedication; and
dedication plus consecration equals elevation.
When teaching about restoration, we have learned that this
word can be defined as returning something to its former
condition. Although we may go through much turmoil here
on earth, God can restore us to our former condition.
Liberation is the act of releasing or setting free. To release
any mental chains that can be holding us back from our
full potential is an act of liberation.
Our plan for The Year of Jubilee entails the following:
pray and fast more than ordinarily, spend more time in
the Word of God and stay in His presence.
As we continue throughout this year, take this plan and be
conscious of it. Find ways to exercise this knowledge into
your daily routines. v

continuously
seeking dedicated
members who are loyal and
committed to the ministry.
It is loyalty and commitment
that keep the ministry moving
forward. This spotlight pays
tribute to a team that conveys
these exact characteristics.
At every event or speaking
engagement held by the
Women’s Ministry on behalf
of Associate Pastor Willie
Mae Jackson you will see
a lovely group of women
with a beautiful, organized
table of information about
the Women’s Ministry. This
group is our Promotions
team. The Promotions
team utilizes their creative
and decorating skills to
create displays for Women’s
Ministry components as well
as promote and display books,
CDs and DVDs for Associate
Pastor Jackson. Each of the
ladies take time from their
busy schedules and give
their all for the ministry. The
Promotions team consists
of Jaun Quzack, Veronica

One of the things I enjoy about spring is how well it
corresponds to God’s plan for our lives.
(“...To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven...” Ecclesiastes 3:1)
I am a gardener and for me, a good time consists of playing
in the dirt and planning my flower beds.
(“...For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace,
and not of evil, to give you an expected end...” Jeremiah 29:11)
6 The Woman’s Touch § Summer 2013
D
uring the planning process, I am preparing the
soil by tilling, adding fertilizer, and positioning
the plants so they benefit from the sun and/or
shade. This is necessary for optimum growth,
and of course watering is absolutely necessary for plant life
because the absence of water would certainly ensure the plant’s
death.
(“...But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him
shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in
him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” John 4:14)
As a plant grows, it becomes obvious to a casual observer
how much work went into the grooming process. With proper
planning, the stalks of the plant will be thick and green; the
blooms will be plentiful; and the colors of the blooms will be
pleasing to the eyes. The plant will grow to its full size or
exceed its size and with time the plant’s overflow will cause the
gardener to separate the plant and transplant it to other beds.
(...“Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so
shall ye be my disciples... John 15:8)
Another process in planting is pruning. This involves cutting
back the stalks on the plant to change the shape of the plant or to
promote more growth. The pruning process may appear to hurt
the plant or to take away the attractiveness of the plant; but the
end result makes the pruning process well worth it!
(...“Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away;
and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may
bring forth more fruit.”... John 15:2)
Finally, the plants are standing tall and
beautiful!
Your neighbors and friends
see the reward of your efforts, and your
accomplishments as a gardener give you
“bragging rights!”
(“Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous
cause; yea, let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified,
which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant. And my
tongue shall speak of thy righteousness and of thy praise all the
day long.” Psalms 35: 27-28)v

We asked women that attended the activities during Women’s Month about
their impression of the changes to this year’s activities and the celebration
of sisterhood.
Women’s Month was different this year, did you like the
change? Please explain.
Yes, because we didn’t have a month
full of ‘busy’ services but events
that were more intimate - it fed your
spirit, mind, and body. -Teresa Grayer
Yes, I enjoyed the change from the
three nights of services. The events
allowed us to fellowship in a way
that was more personal. -Vera Holmes
“Women’s Month” at BWC, in my
opinion, took on a life of its own, right
from the beginning. I’m not sure if
any one statement can adequately
legitimize a so called “change”, as
such; because the theme: “A YEAR
OF JUBILEE: CELEBRATING
SISTERHOOD”,
immediately
embraced a warm and engaging
“SPIRIT OF TOGETHERNESS”.
-Mattie Anderson-Robinson
Yes, the changes in the schedule
were refreshing. It provided time for
many of us to laugh, talk and learn
more about each other. However, I
think the Promotion team should be
awarded Ministry of the Year. While
we rested more, their work continued.
-Valerie Smith
My guests and I really enjoyed the
events this year! -Diann Jackson
Although I did miss the yearly
Women’s Revival with excellent
speakers, I especially liked this year’s
focus on “sisterhood” and fellowship.
The Fashion Show allowed us to
step out of our shells and focus on
camaraderie and the encouragement
of each other. Celebrating Sisterhood
allowed us to share the gospel of Jesus
Christ through our actions and love
for each other as sisters. We allowed
Christ to be displayed through
our fellowship with one another.
-Keisha Montgomery

What does Celebrating Sisterhood mean to
you?
Sisterhood means getting together with other women
and sharing different experiences.
-Shonna Williams
It means celebrating each other in our uniqueness, with
our flaws, and being able to love “in spite of...” -Teresa Grayer
Celebrating Sisterhood means embracing, sharing,
caring, and respecting each other for who we are. -Vera Holmes
“Celebrating Sisterhood” is defined as “ONENESS”! Paraphrasing a little: We had each other’s back - rooted
in the desire to keep it real – stepping up with whatever
God-given talent that conveyed the vision of the leadership.
-Mattie Anderson-Robinson
Celebrating sisterhood reminds me of the love of family;
where differences are laid down and sharing increases.
-Valerie Smith
I have two sisters and we each live in different states.
We make a concerted effort to get together two-three
times a year. We make sure that there is time for the
three of us to spend quality time together. We don’t have
to go anywhere or do anything; just being together in
each other’s presence is enough. Celebrating sisterhood
happens daily with simple phone calls, a kind word or
gesture. Our weekend should continue to inspire us
to Celebrate Sisterhood throughout the year, not just
during the month of March.

Celebrating sisterhood means
that we, as Sisters in Christ,
join together to celebrate the
work of the Lord in each of our
lives. We join in celebrating
our blessings, providing
prayer, encouragement and
assistance for those who
are going through trials
and developing wholesome
relationships that will
foster
the
motivation
and encouragement to
push each of us toward
our destiny in Christ.

What did you enjoy most about the
Celebrating Sisterhood weekend and why?
To me, the whole weekend was great but the fashion
show was the most fun. It allowed us to let our hair
down and show our guests that Christians have fun and
can be fashionable too.
-Teresa Grayer
What I enjoyed most was seeing a good turnout, especially
the mother of the church. I also enjoyed Joy Jamison as
she ministered through song on Friday night. The entire
fashion show was awesome.

allowed us to enjoy a true feeling of sisterhood throughout
the night. I hope that we can have more events like this
for women’s month again! -Diann Jackson
Q. How do you celebrate sisterhood?
I celebrate sisterhood by first understanding that
sisterhood doesn’t mean that my sister has to look or to
act like me. I make sure that I acknowledge my sisters
wherever I go, whether in a restaurant or grocery store,
with a smile and a simple hello. I also celebrate by inviting
my sisters to join me for lunch or on a girls’ trip. Thank
God for sistas!
-Shonna Williams
I celebrate by letting my sistas know, every chance I
get, how beautiful, how gifted, and how loved they are.
Esteeming others more highly than myself.
-Teresa Grayer
I celebrate sisterhood by valuing all of my sisters, whether
they are young or old, black or white. I celebrate sisterhood
by taking the initiative to help my sisters before I am
asked, and by always providing a listening ear.
-Vera Holmes
I’m just trusting God that we may continue the celebration
of sisterhood, as we become the very expression of divine
understanding and wholeness that we’re meant to be
Congrats Committee! Hopefully, my feedback will help
and more importantly, the quote from noted Poetess, Dr.
Maya Angelou summed the month up in a nutshell…
“Love life, engage in it, give it all you’ve got. Love it with
passion, because life truly gives back, many times over,
what you put into it!”
-Mattie Anderson-Robinson
By trying to help build up my sisters in their gifts and
talents and encouraging them to persevere.
-Valerie Smith
By celebrating in their blessings, encouraging and
providing assistance when they are in need, and
continuing to pray for all the saints that they may
continue to grow spiritually and develop an intimate
relationship with Christ. -Barbara Hilliard
For me, it’s inviting my sister to my home for dinner and
fellowship while uplifting each other and giving God
thanks for opening doors that no man can close.

reetings, Sisters in the Name
of our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ!
“Call to me, and I will answer
you, and show you great and
mighty things, which you know
not of.” (Jeremiah 33:3)
It is a season of Jubilee at the Bible Way Church
of Atlas Road! God has enlarged our territory with
another dynamic ministry under the leadership of
Associate Pastor and President of Women Ministry,
Mrs. Willie Mae Jackson of the Bible Way Church of
Atlas Road.
We offer up prayers to God, take prayer requests,
and glorify God. There are anointed speakers
and prayer partners from Georgia, Illinois, New
York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, and
Washington, DC. Since its conception, God has given
us the spirit of Jabez, He has enlarged our territory,
with over 125 prayer partners! This action forced
us to render a new conference call number. The
new number is 530.881.1212 and the access code is
869018547. This line will encompass 1,000 prayer
partners in Jesus’ name.
{ {
Lives have been changed and transformed by the
resurrection power of God.
We have had some awesome
testimonies such as mothers
praying for their unsaved
children and loved ones, and
then themselves inquiring
about what must be done for
them to be saved. One young
lady was struggling with
finding employment. After
calling The Authority Prayer
Line faithfully and believing
God, she is now blessed with
full time employment and benefits in Jesus’ name.
“Call to me, and
I will answer you,
and show you
great and mighty
things, which you
know not of.”
(Jeremiah 33:3)
The Authority Prayer
Line was conceived in
October 2012, with eight
women of God praying
for The President and
for the United States of
America. The name for The
Authority Prayer Line was
revealed when Janet Brice
contacted the administrator
of
Conference
Call
conveying her needs to implement the prayer line.
The administrator replied “you speak with such
authority.” After prayer and supplication for a name
for the prayer line, Elder Diann Jackson confirmed
that our mission is to take authority over our lives
and live as Kingdom beings.
The Authority Prayer Line is active every Tuesday
and Thursday morning from 5:00am until 6:00am.
We’ve had some anointed spoken words such as,
“Speak the Word,” “What to do When You Don’t Know
What to Do,” “What’s Hindering You?” “Hold On and
Wait on God” and “The Process to Your Peace.” This
gracious move of God brought a young man into the
full call to ministry and to minster. Sound the horn.
