FFA Convention in
Orlando
When deciding what their community service project for the year would be, LAJH FFA officers and members
wanted to do something with purpose! They decided to help animals in their community at the Safe Animal
Shelter. Preparing for the holidays LAJH FFA conducted a pet food drive collecting items to help feed the neglected dogs and cats of Clay County. To continue their efforts LAJH FFA participated in a Bagging for Tips
event at their local Winn-Dixie. Over 20 chapter members showed up to help bag groceries that resulted in a
donation to the Safe Animal Shelter of over $300!

Clay County Ag Tour
2
This semester LAJH FFA had
the amazing opportunity to tour
4 businesses within Clay County’s agriculture industry. Over
80 students visited Farley Cattle
Co., Jaxma Orchid, Shadowlawn
Nursery, and the Clay County
Agriculture Center. Students
took a hayride at Farley Cattle
Co. and saw over 100,000 orchids in production at Jaxma
Orchid. They also saw timber
production upclose at Shadowlawn Nursery and learned what
goes on at the Clay Co. Ag
Center.
Seamark Ranch Field Trip
“Agriculture not
On their fieldtrip to the Seamark Ranch, students toured
the diverse agriculture production and learned all about what
goes on at Seamark Ranch.
They saw the ranch’s horses,
donkeys, bee hives, and greenhouses. After the tour students spent the afternoon
enjoying lunch and games with
the Seamark Ranch students.
LAJH FFA was also excited to
donate several bunnies to help
them start their own bunny
collection!
only gives riches to
a nation, but the
only riches she can
call her own.”

LAJH Goat Show
LAJH FFA was honored to
host their first open goat
show at the Clay County
Fair Grounds this past November. Numerous students had the opportunity
for the first time ever to

came from all over the
state to take advantage of
the opportunity!
Sunbelt Agricultural Exposition
LAJH FFA traveled to Moultrie,
Georgia this past October to
explore the Sunbelt Agricultural
Exposition where students saw
