MTSU Lancaster Kailya Woodruff Dresden UTM Paul Oliver The appropriations bill (SB2355) for the 2009-2010 fiscal year has been introduced in the General Assembly with an earmark of non-recurring grants of $250,000 to the FFA and $250,000 to the 4-H Foundation. The newly released print by the TN FFA Alumni Association is entitled “A Fading Era.” It is the fifth edition in a series by famed artist Ralph McDonald. FFA ($264), Erickson USA ($1,750) and McNairy Central H.S. FFA ($914). Exhibit booth space rental for the 81st State FFA Convention was received from: Angotti Farm Toys ($100), Atlas Manufacturing Company ($200), Circle A Fundraisers ($400), Jaderloon Company ($200), John Deere/NW MS. Community College ($100), Mac Rogers dba TN Gold Fundraisers ($200), River Brite Citrus Sales ($200), Southern Heritage ($400), TN FFA Alumni Assn. Mitchell donated $220 in honor of James & Brenda Peeler and Rep. David & Martha Shepard for their support of the 2009 Goodwill Tour luncheon at Dickson. Tennessee State Bank of Gatlinburg donated $100 and Dr. John Todd donated $200 for the East TN Regional Awards Banquet. A total of 34 exhibitors from agribusiness, ag organizations, universities, government and fundraising ventures set up displays at the vendor/trade show during the 81st State FFA Convention held in Gatlinburg on March 30 – April 1, 2009. Total attendance exceeded 2,500 students, advisors, parents and guests. The convention highlight was the FFA Night at the Dixie Stampede with approximately 1,100 in attendance. Over 300 students attended the Patrick Grady Hypnotist Show and over 275 participated in the dance on Tuesday night at the Four Seasons Convention Center. Over 1,275 T-shirts were preordered and another 500 sold on site. Make plans to attend next year’s convention on March 28-31, 2010.
