You may recall that the Southern Jurisdiction meets to review and ratify all the happenings and activities that have occurred the past two years. Our Orient was called upon to support this major undertaking as 23 of our KSA brethren provided logistical support during the entire four-day event. Many of you are aware that the 33rd Degree cast was comprised of members of the DC and Maryland Orients. They presented the Degree in our auditorium with over 350 brethren present as our own William T. Rule, 33° served as Director. Our “white hats” assisted the House of the Temple in processing and organizing the movement of all the men who witnessed this impressive Degree. My heartfelt thanks to each of you for your outstanding efforts. Congratulations to our newest Honor men who are listed on page 3 — our Orient had 13 Inspectors General Honorary (33°) and 22 Knights Commander Court of Honor (KCCH). Please review the calendar on page 4 and note that our first scheduled meeting is the second Tuesday, September 10th for the Evangelist Chapter of Rose Croix. You will see we have some outstanding programs planned and encourage you to bring your family and friends to the Americanism Program and the Education-Scholarship Awards Program. These two programs have special entertainment and of course our outstanding buffet. Our Tuesday meetings also promise to continue to offer profound, interesting and informative topics and presentations. Plan to attend as often as your schedule allows, but make sure you support your Blue/Craft Lodge. Enjoy the remaining days of summer. My thanks to all of you who participate and support Scottish Rite Masonry. contact us: info@dcsr.org 202-232-8155 | visit us online at www.dcsr.org Scottish Rite Center ~ Spring Reunion 2013 May 10-11, 2013 Front Row, L to R: Scott Brown; Gordon Lee Ferguson; Teko Foley; Len Proden, SGIG of Washington, DC; John Vergalla, General Secretary; George Adams; Bill Rule Row 2: Pierre Gaujard; Messanvi Adjogah; Donald Holliday; Duy Tran; Victor Johnson; Michael Hardie; Scott Goldstein; Eddie Komboigo; Michel Daboni; Spero Peters; Mark Wright Row 3: William Turner; Kiyon Harley; David Brummell; Joseph Lukas; Robert Seltzer; George Perez; Michael Broadus; Michael Moussa-Adamo; Ghassan Schbley; Louis Yammine Row 4: Christopher Owen; Paul McFadden; Joshua Demos; Darren Moore; Larry Villegas-Perez; Jean Didier; Afane Fono; Luiz Santos; Kosuke Tanaka; Robert Youngman Row 5: Alexander Huet; Ian McIntosh; DeWayne Bell; Nicolas Kouvahey; Caleb DeGroote; Dan Rapoport; Joseph Rogan; Aleksandar Kovacevic; Andrew Lawless 2013 general officers The Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, District of Columbia SGIG of the Supreme Council. . . . . . It also commemorates the period after the exodus from Egypt during which the Jews wandered in the wilderness and lived in huts. It relates to the general celebration of Thanksgiving. The Feast of Tishri is an essential part of the Fourteenth Degree and eludes to the symbolic details of the Temple’s position, design, construction, furnishing, and decoration as the metaphorical temple of Freemasonry built in the heart of every brother. We learn to recommit ourselves to building Freemasonry “in the hearts of men and among nations.” The consecration of the Temple teaches the equality and unity of all members of the Rite. In the Feast of Tishri, all Perfect Elus and those of higher Degrees can join at the banquet table and share the bond of fraternal unity. The law, legendry, peace, quality, unity, and fellowship of the Feast of Tishri combine to make this the Masonic feast of feasts. The KCCH Club invites all our Scottish Rite Brethren to join us in celebrating our Feast of Tishri. A superb family-style repast will be served and the traditional toasts offered. The Keynote Speaker will be Stephen J Ponzillo III, PGM of Maryland. You MUST RSVP to jdholt@dcsr.org or call 202-232-8155 no later than October 1, 2013 to reserve your seat.
