projects made possible with grant
support from the Apostle Islands
Area Community Fund this year.
“We are pleased to be able to
award a total of $27,997,”
announced Patty Carver who
chaired the Grants Committee.
“It’s really inspiring to see what
organizations are able to accomplish with relatively small grants,”
Carver commented. Grants ranged
from just over $1,000 to the
maximum of $5,000.

1) Grants include discretionary grant making and Organizational Endowment
earnings.
2) Net assets include gifts, pledges, endowed funds and temporary funds. A
$100,000 temporary fund was established by anonymous donors in 2006, which
will be granted over three years to a designated organization.
3) Net realized and unrealized gain/loss. When an investment is sold the gain or
loss on the sale is recorded at the realized gain or loss. The unrealized gain or
loss reflects the change in market value between the cost of stock when it was
originally purchased and the value of the stock on the last day of the month.
4) We are grateful for a grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation which continues
to support our operating expenses.
