her soaking up SUN and having a Margarita. Oh well, spring is coming soon, or so
they say.
What a great turnout at the last meeting. Crappy weather but Parrot Heads can “Party With a Purpose” any time, ant where, and any weather! We did present a couple donation checks. Jeff Henry
and his BBQ Crew are raising money and competing at the “Rotary Rockin Ribs”. We sponsored
his group for $250. Also, we made a $300 donation to our good phriends at “Gathering Friend For
The Homeless”. They can use all the help they can get. It’s really cold out if you are homeless.
What a great job they do.
The theme for the March meeting will be St. Patrick’s Celebration!! So dress in your favorite to
compete for a $15 gift certificate to Cartoon’s. Our favorite trop rock band, “Rick Lamb and The
Phin Addicts” will be providing our entertainment this month at the regular meeting. We will be
dancing until 10:00, and then the boys have to tear down and make their way to Sioux Falls, South
Dakota for a gig with some very hearty Parrot Heads there!!! Man, these guys work their butts
off! So come on out to support the band and the club.
I want to welcome our newest members, Patti and Bruce Moore. Their pictures are enclosed in the
newsletter, AND we want to do the same for other new members, SO please come to the next
meeting and we will get you pictures for the newsletter.
Don’t forget the next Saturday the 28th of February we are joining Di Freitas and the Farrell Duncan Clinic to raise money for the “Sertoma Chili Cook Off”. The crew has been working hard and
booth set up (My personal favorite part) is Friday the 27 th. The crew is set but we are selling tickets for $12, a discount from the $15 door price. Please contact Di for details at,
mamagrydog@yahoo.com
Let’s keep up the good work, and we will see you at Cartoon’s on Kim McKnabb’s birthday,
March the 5th. Let’s have a boatdrink.

The Party of the year starts Friday April 17th 1:00 PM with our Phriends
The Conch Republic Band… followed by the John Frinzi Band and then the Caribbean Chillers…
Can you Believe that is just Fridays Lineup…now I know you are asking yourself how in the world can
I miss out on this…”What Could Happen”…Thanks Jeff?
BY The Way… did I mention that Friday we will have our World Class Raffle with some amazing items.
*******
Saturday April 18th we start at 10:00 am with The Steve Hopper Band then Barefoot Man with Sea n’ B…
then you ask yourself what else could there be…we are Parrot Heads and that means the Party goes on
with Jim Asbell and the Tropiholics and Closing the Night out with Sauce Boss. Again you say that has to
be all but of course not…Scattered among the Bands we have a
Cheeseburger in Paradise right on the Beach and our Game Master for the last 10 years is back again
with some Game Surprises and let’s not forget that
Boat Drink Contest…yes over the years we have had a few casualties along the way but everyone survived and lived to Party Another Day.
The Amazing Silent Auction with Things of Wonder.
*******
Sunday April 19th is a day that gives you a chance to recover before heading out we start Sunday off
with an encore by Barefoot Man then Gene Mitchell and we will follow that with a Locals Showcase.
All these things that are happening…you must be asking yourself…
where do these great musicians play…where do I sit, how do I find where to go…what about beverages
and most of all where do I hide my Cooler?
Well the answers are EASY…
The Bands play on our Beach Stage that sits right in the Sand with the Backdrop of the beautiful Gulf of
Mexico…when we say
“On the Beach we really mean On the Beach”.
That also means you…bring your personal Beach Chair find your place in the sand and sit there all weekend in… put your toes in the Sand facing the Gulf of Mexico… watch the Band and dance in the Sand…
The Barefoot Bar is there if you want a drink or three or if you want food they have a full menu…
Your personal cooler gets lonely…bring it to the Beach filled with your favorite beverage.
How do I be part of this amazing event well it’s simple…
3 Days for $75.00 you receive a World Famous Goody Bag with an Event T-Shirt…lots of stuff.
