Stewardship Thought for
the Week
We are called to be good stewards of
our personal vocations. St. Paul’s
prayer for the Thessalonians is
therefore ours, too — “that our God
may make us worthy of his calling
and powerfully bring to fulfillment
every good purpose and every effort
of faith.”
God excludes no one, neither the poor nor the rich. God does not let himself be
conditioned by our human prejudices, but sees in everyone a soul to save and is
especially attracted to those who are judged as lost and who think themselves so.
Jesus Christ, the Incarnation of God, has demonstrated this immense mercy, which
takes nothing away from the gravity of sin, but aims always at saving the sinner, at
offering him the possibility of redemption, of starting again from the beginning, of
converting. In another passage of the Gospel Jesus states that it is very difficult for a
rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven (cf. Mt 19:23). In the case of Zacchaeus
we see that precisely what seems impossible actually happens: “He”, St Jerome
comments, “gave away his wealth and immediately replaced it with the wealth of the
Kingdom of Heaven” (Homily on Psalm 83:3). Zacchaeus welcomed Jesus and he
converted because Jesus first welcomed him! He did not condemn him but he met his
desire for salvation.

Thanks for Giving First Fruits
and Taking a Step!!!
The Church is all of
us: from the baby just
baptized
to
the
Bishop, the Pope; we
are all the Church
and we are all equal
in the eyes of God!
We are all called to collaborate for the
birth of new Christians in the faith, we
are all called to be educators in the
faith, to proclaim the Gospel. Each of
us should ask ourself: what do I do so
that others might share in Christian life?
Am I generous in my faith or am I
closed? When I repeat that I love a
Church that is not closed in herself, but
capable of coming out, of moving, even
with risks, to bring Christ to all people,
I am thinking of everyone, of me, of
you, of every Christian! We all take part
in the motherhood of the church, so that
the light of Christ may reach the far
confines of the earth. Long live Holy
Mother Church!

Trigésimo Primer Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario
Sab 11:22—12:2; SAl 145; 2 Tes 1:11—2:2; Lc 19:1-104
Zaqueo acogió a

madre Iglesia!
