by our parishioners!!!
Early next month the Nova
Scotia Health Authority, in
conjunction with Heal
Cape Breton, will hold the
“Under One Umbrella” event at Centre 200 in aid of
those who are homeless or at risk of becoming
homeless. At this event, a wide range of services will be
available to those in need including counselling, hair
care, foot care, basic dental checkup, etc. as well as
having available the warm winter wear collections carried
out by our parish and others. Diane Gillis, “Under One
Umbrella” co-chair, sent along this note:
To Holy Redeemer Parish:
On behalf of the Under One Umbrella
committee, I want to take this opportunity to
thank everyone who has donated winter wear,
socks, footwear, etc. to our Under One Umbrella
event thus far. Your generosity has been
overwhelming. We couldn’t pull off an event such
as this without your help.
Once again, thank you so much for all your
support for this worthwhile cause.

Marriage: In this upcoming Year of
God’s Mercy, I would like to extend an
invitation to any of you whose
marriages were not celebrated or
blessed in a Catholic Church by a
Catholic priest or Catholic deacon. If
you would like to have your marriage
blessed, regardless of how long ago
you were married civilly, and if I can
do so in keeping with Church Law, I
will be only too happy to do so. And if
you are in a situation where one or
both of you need an annulment of a
previous marriage, I will do my best to
help you there too. Think it over and
if you wish to have your marriage
blessed, please give me a call.
