We want to make sure that we get our education at the best possible Offertory He Shall Feed His Flock (from Messiah)Handel schools, buy the best possible houses, drive the best (most dependable) cars, and do Val Erben Bayeta, alto saxophone; Czarina Kaye Francisco, piano our jobs in the best possible way. We want to win the championship, and we love the champions who win! This drive, it seems, affects most every area of our lives. Lesson The Sermon on the Mount Gery Friesen It even affects our parenting. Or at least it did mine. When we brought Austin home Closing Prayer Gery Friesen from the hospital, and then later when we brought Miranda home, I wrestled with the thought that I had to do the best possible job of parenting! I had to do it right. Now, Postlude Andante, from Sonata No. 6 W. A. Mozart obviously any loving parent wants to be the best he or she can be. But, in my case, I realized that my perfectionism was coming through and was threatening to make what could be a joyful but challenging task into an impossible one. Superintendent: Doug Herrmann Keyboard: René Ramos Producer: Elsie Chan & Michael Weismeyerr And then I ran across a concept, a concept that gave me a great deal of freedom. It is to that concept that we turn our thoughts today. I hope you will join me, and I hope that it will give you peace and encouragement as well. Relive Ministry Young Adult Ministry www.reliveministry.com _ Randy Speyer Sabbath service, 10:25 a.m., LLUC Sanctuary One more thing: as you seek to be faithful in your parenting journey, just know that Jesus, through His Spirit, walks by your side, strengthening, encouraging, convicting, blessing and loving you all the way. And if He is for you, who or what can be against you?!
