KITUI MISSION APPEAL
Thank you most sincerely on behalf
of Fr. Robert Kalima for giving us the
opportunity to solicit funds for the
Catholic Diocese of Kitui in your
Parish. It was a pleasure for him
sharing and praying with your
parishioners.
You were very receptive and he was
delighted to be with you. Your
generous contributions and prayers
will go a long way in propagating the
Kingdom of God in the Diocese of
Kitui, Kenya.
THE PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
Humility: when we see it in others we find it attractive,
and when we see false pride in others we find it
offensive. In a humble person we can see someone who
is taken up with someone or something beyond
themselves. In the proud we see someone who is full of
self and looks to glorify the self and wants others to
glorify them as well. We can see examples of both in all
walks of life, and perhaps more blatantly in sports.
Fr. Richard Kaley
Pastor
There are superstars who strut around anytime they do
something good and want the praise of the crowd at all
times. There are also superstars who credit their team for success and thank God
for their abilities. Which one is more attractive to you?
It may be harder to see in ourselves which one we are or how others perceive us.
Jesus counsels us to seek a place with those considered lowly and to invite the
poor, the crippled, the lame and the blind into our lives. To think more about
helping others than about focusing on ourselves will help us avoid the trap of
pride.
Fr. Richard
Reflection Question: Who do you see as a humble person? What do you value
about them?
Friary News: We now have a thir d fr iar living with Fr . Ed and myself and
he arrived here this past week. He is Fr. Matthew Malek. He is coming to us from
Terre Haute, Indiana and will be studying at St. Mary University in Minneapolis
for a Master Degree in Counseling. You will see him around the church from
time to time. Please welcome him as you have done to so many other friars over
the years.
WELCOME
My sincere thanks to you. Fr. Robert
thoroughly enjoyed your hospitality
and welcome.
Thank You for joining us today. Are you moving In, Out or Within the
Parish? Please take a moment to fill out the following and mail to the parish

COAL FUND & BUILDING & GROUNDS UPDATES
The needed blacktop repairs done in the north lot were necessary to correct
very damaged areas and to fill holes. In the south lot only minimal repairs were
done with minimal asphalt to fill very bad holes to make sure no deep holes
would happen. The entire cost of these repairs were paid for out of the Coal
Fund. We did this to tide us over until we can re-do the entire south lot which
will be done after the capital campaign funds are collected.
As many know we had two accidental breaking of windows. We cannot say for
sure how it happened but either way they both were replaced. The deductible
amounts on our insurance were paid for out of a budgeted line item from the
general fund.
Any questions on the financial aspects of these two projects should be directed to
our Executive Director, Ardie Broich. in the parish office. 952-854-4733 ext. 12
Questions on the committee decision should be directed to Art Breitbarth at
612-716-7752.
I want to have fun in the
St. Boni’s Fall Festival
Parade. Please help me decorate my
bike, trike, wagon, or doll stroller, etc.
Help me with makeup or a costume so
my family and I and my friends can be
in the parade. We get a Participant
Ribbon and might even win a prize.
It’s only four blocks—I know we can
do it!
Some costume ideas include:
Superhero, Zoom, Disney Pals,
Princess, and animals.
Okay, St. Boni and Bloomington
Community and Friends, let’s
listen to the Youth of our community
and give the Fall Festival a great
beginning. Questions, call John
952-881-4467 or crarjo@yahoo.com.
The Taste of St. Boni’s is coming
back and we need you to share your
favorite recipe! The dinner will be
Saturday, October 8, so at this point
we are putting the menu together.
ALIVE! will help with expenses and
even some of the cooking, but we
want to know which cultural dish you
are willing to share.
The Taste of St. Boni’s
is a chance to share the
variety of cultures
which make up our
faith community. We
want food from all
parts of the world, so
our guests can enjoy a
fabulous meal with
many flavors. Please
contact Breta MacPhie to
volunteer or to ask questions
blmac1029@hotmail.com or
612-730-6409.

RESPECT LIFE
“‘Rather, when you hold
a banquet, invite the
poor, the crippled, the
lame, the blind; blessed
indeed will you be because of their
inability to repay you. For you will be
repaid at the resurrection of the
righteous.’” — Luke 14:12-14 (NABRE

world, and encouraging young people
to discover the beauty of a life given
completely to the Lord and his
Church.
—Pope Benedict XVI, Mass at St. Patrick's
